How to Stay Calm When Your Kid Can’t

Building Your Capacity to Connect +
Co-Regulate

A deep-dive workshop for parents, caregivers, and pediatric therapists who support neurodivergent kids with Alisha Grogan MOT, OTR/L

Wednesday, November 11 at 1 PM ET/10 AM PT with extended replay access!

Parents of neurodivergent kids carry a lot.

If you ever feel like…

"It all lands on my shoulders," "I don't want to react, but keep getting pulled into the cycle," "I'm touched out," "I'm too dysregulated to help my kid regulate," "I don't have anything else to give," "I'm walking on eggshells hoping to avoid the next battle," "I must be doing something wrong."

…this is for YOU.

Everyone says “Share your calm,” but what if you don’t have any calm to share?

Here’s the truth: regulation is a skill, and kids with sensory needs, big emotions, trauma, ADHD, or autism often need extra help building it.

That help starts with us, the adults who share our calm through co-regulation. We hear this ALL the time. What we don’t hear is how to find that calm when we’re exhausted, triggered, or wired a little differently ourselves. That’s the missing piece.

Stay Steady in the Tough Moments + Strengthen Your Own Nervous System

What you’ll learn in this new deep dive workshop for YOU:

1

How to break the reaction cycle.

Learn your early warning signs, and exactly what you can do in the moment to prevent spiraling further into your own dysregulation.

2

8 in-the-moment regulation tools that work for adults

Quick but powerful tools you can use when you can’t step away, even in the middle of a meltdown.

3

What to do when you react in a way you didn’t want to

And how to let go of the guilt so it doesn’t follow you all day.

4

How to feel more grounded throughout your day

Simple, realistic practices that strengthen your nervous system over time, even if you’re neurodivergent or have a trauma history yourself.

Therapists: you’ll also learn how to apply this in sessions for yourself and coach parents through it without shame.

This is more than a workshop. It’s the support for you that never seems to come:

Meet Your Teacher

I know co-regulation. I also know how hard it is.

I’ve been a pediatric occupational therapist for over 20 years, and I’ve taught co-regulation to countless parents and therapists. But as a mom of three boys (one with ADHD), and some neurodivergence myself, I struggled to do it in my own home.

When the noise and demands piled up, I’d snap before I could think.
What changed everything was finally focusing on my own regulation. That’s what I want to give you: simple, doable steps to respond the way you want to in the hard moments, and to feel steady more often.

I’m also the founder of YourKidsTable.com and The Connection Hive, my membership for parents of neurodivergent kids.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this for therapists too?

Yes! Sessions can be dysregulating for us too: a child melting down in front of you, a frustrated parent watching, a packed caseload. Many of us are neurodivergent or have our own trauma history, which can make our alarm go off faster. And this is the foundation for coaching parents through co-regulation, which is essential and honestly some of our most important work. You’ll learn tools for yourself and how to teach them to families without shame.

What if I’m too burnt out and have next to no capacity?

Then this is for you, most of all. You don’t need extra energy to start. Everything is broken into small, doable steps, and you’ll walk away with just one or two tools to begin with. Watch in short chunks if that’s what you have. Even five minutes a day can start to shift how you feel.

How is this different from the free class?

The free class gave you a quick look at Connect, the first step in the Connect, Calm, Grow plan. This workshop is the full deep dive. You’ll learn why your alarm goes off, how to catch it before you snap, 8 in-the-moment tools, how to repair when you do react, and how to build your own long-term regulation, plus a planner to make it personal.

I’m neurodivergent or have a traumatic history. Will this still work for me?

Yes, and it may matter even more. When your nervous system is wired differently or has been through a lot, your alarm can go off faster and louder. This workshop speaks directly to that, with tools that work for adult brains like yours. (It’s not a substitute for therapy, and we’ll talk about when extra support can help.)

I’m already in The Connection Hive or the Therapist All Access Membership. Do I need to buy this?

Nope! It’s already included in both. Just look for it inside your membership.

Real Families,
Real Calm

“I sure have found a lot of patience for my grandkids (SPD and ADHD). That is certainly not to say that challenges don’t happen now I just feel like I can handle them better.”

“I feel like I can breathe again.”

Feel grounded. Respond the way you want to. Help your kid find their calm.
