Brain Boss - Your Kid's Table

Strategies for Executive Functioning Skills in Kids

Impulsivity, Attention, Completing Tasks & More

Join Alisha Grogan MOT, OTR/L for this brand new 2 hour workshop to decode the mystery of executive functioning and learn practical ways to improve these skills!

Kids with executive functioning difficulties often struggle with:

memory, managing their time well, impulsivity or self-control, planning out the steps to complete a task, starting tasks they don't want to do, poor attention, organization

Are executive functioning struggles related to sensory issues?

While the whole brain is connected, sensory processing and executive functioning are different parts of it. HOWEVER, there is a common link between the two. Frequently, kids that have sensory processing difficulties ALSO have executive functioning difficulties.

And, executive functioning skills rapidly decline when a child is dysregulated. So when your child is regulated you can work to increase these skills in an intentional way, which is what you’ll learn how to do in this new and powerful workshop!

Hi, I’ll be your teacher.

My name is Alisha Grogan, I’m a passionate pediatric OT that wants to empower parents and therapists to help their kids with evidence-based strategies for challenges that seem the most elusive, like executive functioning!  As a Mama of 3 myself, I also get what it’s like to live with challenges like poor attention and impulsivity day in and day out.  I know how days go by in a blur, and that’s why my teaching focuses on do-able but effective strategies you can incorporate into everyday life, which is how occupational therapy is meant to be done.

You may know me from my blog and website, YourKidsTable.com, but I’m also a teacher to thousands of therapists and parents around the world in my RISE with Sensory and Mealtime Works courses.

Many children need help developing executive functioning skills that don’t have or need any diagnosis.  If that’s the case, then the Brain Boss workshop is a great fit because it will teach you strategies to address those challenges. Many kids with Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, and numerous other diagnoses almost certainly have executive functioning difficulties. Often these difficulties are overlooked because they’re attributed to the diagnosis, but addressing them will have an enormous impact on their development.

Do I need to buy any expensive tools or toys?

Nope, most everything you do to help improve executive functioning skills is done around your daily routines and specific prompts. You don’t have to get anything extra, although our Executive Functioning Toolkit is an optional add-on for $13 that gives you a screening tools and helpful printables to implement the strategies you’ll learn in the workshop.
