If so, developing their emotional regulation skills can have a big impact on decreasing mood swings and coping with frustration, anger, anxiety, excitement, and sadness.
Emotional regulation is a skill, and without teaching kids how to recognize and manage their emotions, they’re most likely to learn to suppress them or explode their feelings onto others.

Hi, I’ll be your teacher.
My name is Alisha Grogan, I’m a passionate pediatric OT that wants to empower parents and therapists to help their kids with evidence-based strategies for challenges that seem the most elusive, like emotional regulation! As a Mama of 3 myself, I also get what it’s like to live with challenges like big emotions and dysregulation day in and day out. I know how days go by in a blur, and that’s why my teaching focuses on do-able but effective strategies you can incorporate into everyday life, which is how occupational therapy is meant to be done.
You may know me from my blog and website, YourKidsTable.com, but I’m also a teacher to thousands of therapists and parents around the world in my RISE with Sensory and Mealtime Works courses.

Most children need help developing emotional regulation skills that don’t have or need any diagnosis. If that’s the case, then the Mood Manager workshop is a great fit because it will teach you strategies to address those challenges. Many kids with Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, and numerous other diagnoses almost certainly have emotional regulation difficulties. Ofte,n these difficulties are overlooked because they’re attributed to the diagnosis, but addressing them will have an enormous impact on their development.
