FAQ’s
When is registration due?
We only have 15 guaranteed spots. As soon as we fill up, we’ll go to a waiting list before adding 5 more campers and another OT. Spots may go quickly! There is no other camp like this in the Pittsburgh or even the tri-state area. If you want in, we’d recommend getting your spot secured as soon as possible.
My child doesn’t have a diagnosis but has challenges with attention, core strength, or following directions. Is this camp a good fit?
YES! Kids with these challenges and without a diagnosis often fly under the radar. There are often retained primitive reflexes, and sensory integration can be incredibly beneficial.
Do I send my kid’s lunch?
Yes, you provide what your child will eat each day. We will have some simple foods we’ll prepare for food play that come out alongside the lunch, such as carrots, peas, etc. If a child has an allergy, we don’t use any food with that allergen at all for the group.
My child is a flight risk. Are there any open spaces?
The location we rented is totally secure. There are no open spaces, and your child will be closely monitored at all times. We also have a very tight ratio of 1 adult for every 2-3 kids.
My child is almost potty trained. Can they attend?
Unfortunately, we aren’t set up at camp to change diapers, so all kids must be potty trained.
It’s also good to know that…
- You will receive a parent-friendly report the week after camp with our clinical observations and suggestions for follow-through at home.
- Your child will also get a “Trailblazer Adventure Camp” t-shirt! Please indicate your child’s size when you register.
- All campers will have the chance to come check out our camp space and meet Alisha, one of the OT leaders the week before camp. This is when you’ll pick up your t-shirt too!
- After you register below, you’ll receive a questionnaire to complete so that we can prepare to meet your child’s needs before camp begins.
